Stuart_J

If you are going to be at the meet, I don't suppose you could bring a copy of the info you have on the DPF on your car?

Would be very useful to have a read over it.

Thanks

Re: Newbury Meet - Friday 18th May

As a South East newbie... Does anyone know how long it takes to get around the M25 at that sort of time? Leaving at junction 26?

By the sounds of the traffic reports last night I am best off leaving now.

Re: Newbury Meet - Friday 18th May

Sorry, but no longer attending, have done too many late evenings at work this week and M27/M3/A34 on a Friday evening has lost its appeal. Will look out for the next South East meet though. Enjoy.

Mappoint reckons an hour and a quarter to cover the 83 miles, but I'd probably be allowing 2 hours in Friday evening traffic on the M25........ unless you want to be fashionably late

Re: Newbury Meet - Friday 18th May

Flippin' heck. I live in Newbury and have only just seen this thread! Why wasn't I on the mailing list ?

The Swan Inn to the south of Newbury is certainly a good place to go if a bit pricey. There's another 'Swan' pub along London Road so don't get confused. Make sure you put 'RG20 9BH' into your satellite navigation. Parking should be ok if we get there by 7pm and although they have separate eating and drinking areas, if there's enough of us eating we should be ok to sit together.

Nelsons Diner is that American place someone else suggested. I haven't been but it looks interesting. There's also the Star Inn close to it along the A339 (RG20 4SY) which has plenty of parking but since it's not as close to the M4/A34 you may wish to choose that for another day.

Next Friday is great for me so I look forward to seeing you then.

Re: Newbury Meet - Friday 18th May

The answer, Orinj, is that there isn't a mailing list - you have to keep an eye on the meets section

Mailing lists are possible but we tend to reserve them for special occasions, for admin reasons.

I do try and PM the people that may be interested in a meet as you know Nick but it's impossible to know of everyone in the region. Orinj, you will be added to the PM list so you'll hopefully get a reminder in future

Looking like a good turnout for this one too
