North Weald Pre-Meet - Wednesday 28th May

Briskoda is having a car handling day on the 29th of May so as a prelude to that we are having a gathering of like minded enthusiasts on the Wednesday night (Venue TBC).

More details will be added here very shortly as to the location but it will be in North Weald (which is very close to the M25 and M11 interchange). Map Link

You dont have to be coming on the handling day to come along to this so all are welcome

For those wishing to stay over, particularly those on the handling day, the majority are staying at the nearby Travel Lodge (Harlow North Weald).

Edit (22/05/08): Venue has been decided on an Italian Restaurant in Epping but meeting in the pub opposite from 7:00pm onwards

I'm booked in at the hotel too, thought why the hell not, and perhaps makes it easy to get a cab from the venue to the hotel should beer be consumed

Last time we used The Talbot at North Weald for the night before meet/meal/drink, if you do so again then the Travel Lodge is only a couple of hundred yards stagger away from the pub.
There are many other pubs that do food etc in the area.

there is the one in North Weald, I think it is the kings head. It's an old pub and the food is basically the same as what you find at the pub used for the Newbury meet

Take the missus out to a quiet Essex (by way of a change) country pub for a meal in the evening. By some small world coincidence, you may run into the pre handling day meet. Surely she cannot blame you if it is merely coincidence

If you are going to have to bail, and it would be for good reason I admit, then I think Stuart_J was looking at a spot, but otherwise maybe you could as suggested find a nice country pub or something?

There is also a cracking Italian restaurant in Epping, drinks are a bit pricey, but the food is superb.

The Italian in Epping does cracking food with a large menu.
You can also book a table, but someone else will have to do it as we go on holiday to Alaska on the 2nd May and wont be back until nearer the date, it might be a bit tight to book, although as its a Wednesday night it should be ok.
It all depends what everyone else wants to eat?
