Righty ho folks, I will try and book us a big table / group of tables somewhere close to the track / hotel and easy to find. The Talbot is looking easiest (did anybody order mushrooms). Thinking a 7:00 kick off so put down your names below and I will sort out a booking.

I need to know how many are likely to show.

As for times, I am thinking that we can book for around 7:00 and turn up anytime after that.

It is not an area I normally eat out in, so if anyone has a suggestion let me know.

Talbot Pros: Easy to find

Cons: Food mediocre, service mediocre.

So I would be more than happy to try somewhere else. I will take a drive up there and see if I can find something else. I will check out the Kings Head pub in North Weald and cruise around for some others. Problem with pubs for meets is always the same. Big pub needed for a group booking nearly always at best mediocre. All the good places are a bit small for a biggish party.

Would'nt think it would be necessary need to book, not midweek at least! Athough there will be a few of us I'm sure if the worst came to the worst we can fall back on the Talbot, after all pubs are on there knees atm, most would welcome a group of our size with open arms!

The Italian in Epping would be my choice, the menu is large and the food is very good, I agree with Chris about his comments on The Talbot, but its there if needed.

The Italian in Epping is large enough not to require a booking for midweek, anyway its up to everyone where they want to eat.

Chris, its dead easy to find, if your coming from Chelmsford way, then just go into Epping, down the hill into the town and its on the right.

"ER" indoors and I use it quite a bit and have never had a bad meal in there, its not too cheap but the food is very good.

Alaska cold? May be, but the Royal Caribbean cruise ship won't be.............LOL
