I still object that red funnel did give a discount when i last asked, but now dont.

I guess we could become briskoda rally club and get a sports team discount

it might be cheaper to hire a heavy car transporter for a few hours and load all the cars on the back, then we all go over as foot passengers

Yeah, neither was I. The portions seem to be getting less in size and quality. Hare & Hounds has improved alot since it was taken over by the Greene King (fe fi foo fum) also again a big free carpark. Folly? On the way out of East Cowes. Medina Quays? on the way into Newport?

WoodVale has always been a good pub in the summer - maybe a little cold in the winter? Its bound to be gale force and raining.....

If everyone wants to do the route roughly the same as last year that means by the time lunchtime comes around we should be in the south wight somewhere. Hence why The Spyglass was used last year. I'm really not fussed where we go but I would like everyone to have a nice place to go eat.

I've expressed my interest to Mr P about checking out that place in shanklin on the beach, the name escapes me atm.

Pixi,

There is always the Crab in Shanklin Old Village. Nice little thatched pub, food has alway been good when I've been in there and a huge car park, although not free, only 50yds away????

Medina quays is a Brewers fayre.

I havn't been to the Crab for years but agree the location is nice and could well be a contender. My brain is mush today after last night so it may be nice to chill out and check out a couple of places today.

I will try my best to check out the Crab and the Steamer. I will try and grab some menus and scan them on here too

I took Mr P to lunch at the Steamer today and it was awful

There is another contender that has reopened since it's thatched roof caught on fire recentely. It's the White horse I think, anyhow it's in Whitwell so on route. It's always had a really good reputation so I will try and check it out next weekend.

We stopped off at the Crab and I grabbed a lunchtime menu, I will scan it somewhen but it is limited.

I think even I wouldn't manage a 50 oz, but I'd happily share one with another gutso like me.

Can an islander ring red funnel and see what you can organise, prehaps make us briskoda rallying association? I tried and was told yes, then no.

If not then obviously we will all have to book ahead individually
