Just booked my B&B for the friday and saturday night in Southampton

so just ferry to book now when times etc are decided

but i wont let the side down, I will be there in a skoda rather than a VW.

no passport required,as we are part of the UK,just about 3 miles off mainland,and we drive on the same side as the rest of the country,and even speak English

Well, what can I say? This is now my favourite pub

It's in the perfect location for the meet and where we will be around lunchtime and it's nice and ye olde worlde country pub style. I checked out the whole place and it shouldn't be a problem to seat all of us together and apparentely you can book if it's ten or more people. It also has it's own large car park.

Now to the important bit, the food. The menu is probably one of the most varied and extensive I have seen in a country pub. You will not be disappointed

The food is bloomin lovely and very good quality. The portions are so big you have to have any sides on a separate plate or bowl. Some of the things I can remember from the menu is loads of steaks (F.I.L. had gammon steak that looked gorgeous) fish, currys, aswell as old favourite pub food like lasagne, scampi and burgers (for Jase

). Extensive choices in vegetarian options too.

I will post the address and postcode later on in the first post for those who have KenKens and might get lost

I have just done a mock booking online. It's coming out at £27.50 just like the offer on the home page states. I selected 09.30 from Soton, 2 adults, returning at 20.30 (next one is 22.00). This is the best price I have ever seen Red funnel advertise.

It's a cacky timetable during winter, the one before the 09.30 is 08.10.

Leaving Soton they seem to be every hour and twenty minutes. Leaving East Cowes they seem to be every hour and a half so these times seem sensible, but it's you guys that are doing the travelling.

Well, 9.30 gets in at about 10.30, which doesn't leave masses and masses of time to tour the island. Although I also don't fancy trying to get to Southampton for about an 8.10 sailing!

9.30 sounds good to me.

8.45 meet at the Mayflower car park just down the road from the terminal.

Is / does anyone else fancy a night out in Southampton on the Friday? I am travelling down on the Friday and stopping in a B&B, Mark (Cheezemonkhia) as volunteered to join me in a few beers and we were wondering if anyone else would like to join us and maybe booking a table for a curry?
