Re: New Forest Summer Meet (with camping option)

I'm trying to sort out some wine tasting at a local vineyard and the obligatory new forest ice cream will be a stop off at some point. (Have to keep the kids and associated SWMBOs happy i guess).

A bit of a random drive and I'm trying to think of a few other places to go while I'm at it. There be a reasonable bit of beach, but parking isn't the best at that time of year. The other option I am musing is a mass invasion of the area near Christchurch, but that is virtually coming out the other side of the forest.

At this rate it might run into a second day - if it goes on for two days I may scoot down for the second one, I'm busy on the 30th already though

Looks like it should be a great day, hope the weather is good on the day as that should make it an even better day out

Re: New Forest Summer Meet (with camping option)

Beaulieu is only around the corner, so those with kids or who are camping could take advantage of the proximity and have a look over the motor museum etc there.

Those interested could make a day of it before heading back on the Sunday evening perhaps?

Beaulieu - The Best Day Out in England!

Me, I'll probably be asleep.

There are a couple of shops I wouldn't mind going to in Bournmouth if you're stuck for places to go

Re: New Forest Summer Meet (with camping option)

Wine tasting is a go, and it is free too.

There is also a tour at £5.50 a head of the vineyards, but that has to be booked ahead.

Any thoughts on this? Myself I'm thinking take the free taste and not do the tour at that price?

List as it stands:

Confirmed:

1) Cheezemonkhai (1 for lunch)
2) ScoobyChris +1 (possibly 2 for lunch)
3) MissKia +1 (2 for lunch)
4) Queen P (1 for lunch - put up sorted )
5) sharkrider + mel + HC (three for lunch please..)
6) PPat + hc and swmbo (3 for lunch)
7) Gillywibble - Gilly & Wibble + 2 HC's (4 for lunch).
8) mbames (1 for lunch)

Confirmed Camping:

Please note you have to book these yourself and the details of the camp site are on the first thread.

1) PostmanPat + SWMBO + HC (2 pitches)
2) Sharkrider + Mel + HC (2 pitches)
3) Gilly and Wibble (2 pitches)

Possibles:

TeflonTom ( 1 for lunch)
20VLIL (1 for lunch)
Pixi + 1 (2 for lunch)
TaviaRS (2 for lunch and a tent pitch)
moose
Nick + B (1 for lunch)

Christopher when you live where I do, those shops are something to look forward to

Actually if I do come by myself I won't be attempting to drive into Bournmouth

If I arrive off the ferry about 11 ish, where do you all think you will be?

Although I suspect that the location and/or name of the pub will remain a secret until the day - we don't want people cheating now, do we?

Re: New Forest Summer Meet (with camping option)

Maps work well too - (even if you turn them round like women tend to )

You should be able to spot a convoy of Skud drivers though, there will be a fairly large number of them in a pub carpark I would imagine on the day
