| Briskodian | 17" Octy vRS wheels on a Furby vRS - PIC ADDED Bought some of Blades yesterday - I can confirm that they do in fact fit the Fabia and they do look scrummy (pics to follows) I can also confirm that the Octy 205/50/17 tyres fit ok on the fronts, rear right BUT NOT THE REAR LEFT A piece of arch liner rubs badly and I wasnt prepared to dremmel it. I was prepared to put up with the rolling radius difference and get 205/40/17's when they wear out but hey ho.So, anyone want some 205/50/17 tyres cheap? - see the for sale section NOW SOLD.

| I tried some 18's with 225/40 18's last week, no way...lol. The 235/35 19's wouldnt even fit in the arch! ![]() |

| Briskodian | When I suggested 18"s on a Fabia and you said they were a no-no I thought "yeah right" I stand corrected!

| 17" fills the arch better - IIRC there is actually a 3% or so difference in the rolling radius, so it actually is filling it better. Hehe - the first time I saw the piccie I thought nothing was different until I read the text below and looked a bit harder. ![]()

| It never really dawned on me how similar the designs of the Fabia and Octy wheels are.... cant decide what would look better as a 17" yet. |

| Briskodian | I wanted a subtle change and I think I got it! The 205/50/17's fill the arches too well - one rubbed badly at the rear so I'm getting the correct 205/40/17's

| They will look so much better on low profile rubber (not that they look bad )The wheel will look bigger if you get me but will fit nicely. |

| i know the 225/40 R17's go on the octy vRS so they would go on those wheels. the difference between the 2 tyres is minimal though as the 50 and 40 wall depth is purely a % of the tyre width. the difference between the 2 is near enough 1 inch. The 225's being the smaller IIRC.

| Briskodian | The problem with the 205/50/17 tyres is the height of the sidewall - it rubs on the rear left wheel against the wheelarch liner You may well get away with a 225/40/17

| BRISKODA Staff | IIRC, the more common tyre size is 225/45/17 and 225/40/18. Phil (pivuk) could confirm.

| IIRC running 205/50 R17 as opposed to 205/40 R17 entailed more than a 10% difference in rolling radius... ![]()
