| Alloy Cleaning My alloys (vRS ones) are now displaying some nice black specs (which I assume are either tar or hardened brake dust), but the standard wheel cleaning foams etc. don't seem to ber shifting it despiter regular cleaning over the last few weeks. Does anyone know of a more effective way of shifting this? Thanks,

| Re: Alloy Cleaning Probably the best way to remove road tar is with a specific tar remover. Then clean the wheels with a good quality alloy cleaner (Wonder wheels, Autoglym clean wheels etc) I find it best to wax the wheels last thing as this will protect the wheels from salt, tar, brake dust. Remember, clean your tyres FIRST as the spray from the tyre dressing/foam will act as a magnet for the road grime on the wheels. ![]()

| Re: Alloy Cleaning I have the same problem. I think I am gonna have to resort to taking each wheel off and attacking them with some harshly acidic alloy cleaner until they're proper clean and then I'm going to wax them and keep on top of the cleaning.
