alloy wheel painting/chroming

Instead of gettin new alloys thinking about having my standard ones black chromed......I like that light coating of brake dust look.

Anyone know anywhere that would do this and what sort of price would I expect to pay?

Cheers.
Adrian.

Hmmmm.......I guess powder coating is just like repainting like Jon had done to his? If so then I guess it would be chroming......I'd like something similar to the L&K but a bit darker like the Beemer M5.

I guess powder coating would be easier and hence cheaper?

I think there is a place called "wicked wheels" around south bucks somewhere - they might even be a chain. Someone recommended i go there once when i was thinking of doing the same thing.

Then i realised - if i like the brake-dust effect so much - then why not simply dont bother cleaning the wheels - it will save a packet

Monty's tyres do black chroming for £350.....in Iver, Buck (just past Q).

That's £87.50/wheel and they collect and deliver.

Is this a reasonable price?

Mailed Wicked Wheels also.

£87.50/wheel sounds expensive. I seem to recall that repainting mine would have cost around £50/wheel (and thats incl stripping, etc) if I had to do it myself.

IIRC wicked wheels charge £65 for a wheel repair, I suppose the price for a colour change would be similar.

I have no idea on the if the cost is good or not but I would have thought chroming would be mor expensive.

Jon had his wheels powder coated for £35/wheel. Can't find where he had them done.

Jon had his done at Prestine in Milton Keynes. I am thinking of getting mine done too. Either Anthracite or Satin Black. Should look good on a yellow car!
