Question Alloy Wheel Protection

Anyone tried Protex4 Alloy Wheel Protector or similar before?

I absolutely hate cleaning wheels with chemicals and such and I was wondering if it was useful to use some kind of polymer to make life easier?

Thanks for any advice

I have just done my new wheels with Diamondbrite, together with the paintwork. They are so much easier to clean now, but I have only clocked 600 miles, so it's early days.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have used wax in the past but found that it doesn't last very long; I imagine it's because hot brake pad dust is rather hostile. Mike, the new car is getting a coat of Supaguard from the dealer FOC but the wheel treatment isn't included. I might give this product a try. I'll let you know how I get on

I got some "can't remember the name" with some ombrello stuff. I'm sure I have the bottle somewhere- But I pretty much emptied the bottle on my rims when they were spanking clean, and the brake dust is DEFINITELY NOT sticking to the metal like it used to.

Be cheeky - ask him to include the wheels! If not, ask him for the leftovers of Stage 1 & 2. There should be enough left in the bottles.

Will do - good idea! At the moment, I'm just desperate to get the car. My original car was damaged in transit so I've been waiting since January

But think of the depreciation you are saving while delivery is delayed

AFAIK there is normally enough product to do a number of cars, so they make even more profit! I just hope that they propare the car extremely well before they apply the Supaguard to the car, and read ALL the imstructions that they give you for maintainance, especially WRT bird-pooh....

John.
