| Auto Glym Ultra Deep Shine ? i have just brought a bottle of this new stuff, designed for dark colured cars, the guy in the shop said he has had some good feed back(well he would, as he sells it), have not had a chance to apply any to day but hopefully if the weather is good next weekend will be giving it a try. Use to use the Super Resin polish, but that was on my last two Furbies, which were red, but now the Black magic vRs is here, thought that the white powder it produces will not be too good.............this is suppose to be better, and is according to thier web site there first new polish is 23 years, we will see..........

| Its been on sale for over a year under the name supreme polish for the trade. AUTOGLYM only brought it out for retail after a lot of pushing from the reps who were finding that they were losing ground to the new boys Meguires. Local rep is going to demo it to me and work colleagues this month. We've had a bottle of it sitting in w/house but never tried it. Its meant to be the best hand applied polish out there?? It'll need to be to beat Megs Tech Wax |

| Briskodian | Hi - just joined the forum today but thought I might be able to help... I have been valetting cars for quite a few years now and have tried all different polishes and waxes. Autoglym is good stuff but it is a polish and as such is prone to leave the fine swirl marks that everybody hates. I use hand waxes (which have no abrasives) with paint cleansers for preparation - at the better end of the occassional user market is Meguiars Cleaner Wax if you want to pay out a bit more go for P21S. Serious Performance keeps them all and are about as cheap as you will get. Neil |

| Briskodian | Sorry should have included a link http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/. Alex that runs it is very helpful and his prices are up to 30% less than I have found elsewhere. FOR THE ULTIMATE FINISH i WOULD SUGGEST... P21S paint cleanser followed by the concours wax Meguiars NXT shampoo Clearkote quick Shine for topping up between waxes. Neil |

| Briskodian | Not as far as I know. There are only two outlets in the UK that sell P21 one being SP the other is there official outlet I think. |

| At the moment I use Auto Glym Bodywork Shampoo and conditioner with some towel pad thing to clean, Ultra Deep Shine polish followed by Meguiars Gold Class Wax. I am extremely happy with the results I must say. The polish is a bit of hard work to remove, harder than the Super Resin, but well worth the effort imo. I am weary of using it too often though. I'd like to know more about how to do a better job, but everything seems so expensive. What is best to use to get a good finish between Wax treatments? See my gallery for results.

| Briskodian | VRSed: "What is best to use to get a good finish between Wax treatments?" As mentioned above I recommend Clearkote quikshine to my customers (and use it myself) or you could use Meguiars Quick Wax. The Clearkote is far easier and less messy. | Briskodian | Firstly I wouldn't advise doing too much under the bonnet unless you know what you are doing and I cant/ don't give a warranty with my advice! If you are going to do it be careful I know of people who have done costly damage. Definitley dont use a high pressure washer - remove as much debris (leaves etc) dry. If you are going to use water then cover everything electrical in WD40 type product/cling film/grease then wash down with a mild detergent of your choice and agitate with a nylon type brush, when I do this I tend to leave the engine running. then run it round the block or blow it off with compressed air(trying not to get it on the paintwork!!!) Follow up by re-applying greases etc as required then treat with an engine laquer if you are really going to town. |

| Briskodian | I think Autoglym do a product called Engine cleaner if I haven't put you off!! And if you do it with the engine running/warm you need to work quickly so the stuff doesn't dry out!! |

The only thing you will need to check on the S100 is whether you can get the cleanser, that gets it ready for the wax - not essential but the difference is amazing. Neil

I would be careful with polishes as they tend to leave fine scratches - if you are removing "blebs" or scratches I would use something like a regular G3 compounding paste - after all that is what they are made for. Petrol is generally fine in small quantities but you will need to repolish the body work after.

| Briskodian | For those little tar spots, either use a tar remover (AG one OK), or use a Clay Bar/Paint Rubber. Don't think you will gain anything buy using multiple coats of AG SRP, as it is an abrasive polish, not a wax, which will build up coats nicely. John John.
