Black Magic paint spraying

Has anyone dabbled in spraying Black Magic paint?

Do you need a special lacquer as it is essentially a pearlescent finish?

Re: Black Magic paint spraying

I've sprayed VW Bright Green Pearlescent and the lacquer isn't anything special, just normal clear stuff. The pearl effect comes from using mica flake in the paint rather than metal flake as per metallic.

Re: Black Magic paint spraying

Cheers Simon.
As you know, I'm thinking of colour-coding the chromed front surround & possibly the door handles.

So my next questions are:- Which will provide a better finish - aerosol paint or proper paint diluted & sprayed with air gun/brush? (I have a cheap modellers air brush I can use).

Also, what's the best primer to use on the chromed plastic grille surround & handles?

A primer suitable for plastics.
