Car bodywork and Interior

Hi everyone

Hope everybody has recovered after xmas and the new year.

I`m in the process of giving my car and the wife`s a good going over never realised xmas travelling and two youngster can cause such a HUGE MESS!!!

I`m looking to get the cars to an excellent condition inside and out so any advice would be welcome from products that really work.

I want to get the bodywork and alloys to a show car gleam both paintworks are black and they don`t stay clean long so i need it to last.

Something to bring the interior back to life the trim and dash also if possible something to give life back to the leather interior.

nearly forgot is their anything to give the engine bay abit of a sparkle the plastics look kind of dull.

Thanks for the help and if they are a simple visit to halfords etc or do they come from specialist shop and sites.

If your looking at purchasing from high st. retailers - Halfrauds and the like then you can't go wrong with the Meguiars or AutoGlym ranges.

Something like Meg's Gold Class shampoo or AG shampoo followed by AG Super Resin Polish or Extra Gloss Protection (dependant on paintwork condition) or Meg's NXT Tech Wax.

Meg's Hot Rims wheel cleaner for alloy wheels and their Endurance Tyre gel for the tyres if you want to go that far.

If your looking to do the glass and dash etc then either Meg's or AG do suitable products.

Try Gliptone products for the leather - very effective and a great smell!

I use some cheap turtle shampoo, followed by Autogylm super resin polish or Meguires Canubara (SP?) wax depending on my mood

Just a sponge for me on the wheel trims

(Alloys soon tho

Glass, I use Autogylm glass polish to get them crystal clear and for the "beading effect" apply some Mer rain repellent.

Dashboard, I use the Autogylm vinal and rubber car, and also on doorhandles & other exterior plastics.

For the engine I use a spray called "Gunk" something or other, its in a orange spray can and it works a treat but needs some elbow grease & a toothbrush

Tire shine sprays to get the tires looking wet, Carplan stuff I think Im using atm.

On the cloth seats I tend to use Carplan interior shampoo stuff but Im not happy with the results lately and have tried some Bissel carpet cleaner for domestic carpets and that has worked quite nice on the rear but havnt tried the front yet.
