Chewing Gum - Grrrrr

Quite annoyed really.

Didn't realise I had some gum on my shoe and it is now firmly gummed in to the drivers mat!!!

Does anyone know a way I can get this off without ruining my mats??

Cheers

Put your mat in the deep freezer then scrape off the frozen chewy

Re: Chewing Gum - Grrrrr

I was advised to freeze the garment (a coat in my case) and chip the gum off whilst it could be fractured into bits. It worked well.

Re: Chewing Gum - Grrrrr

you can buy "freeze spray" ......spray it and then hit it with a hammer and it shatters

Freezing it definitely works, or you can buy bubblegum remover. I'm sure SWMBO has a litre of it knocking about.

If you cant remove the mat.Use a large ice cube and rub it over the gum and then break it out in small pieces.

Re: Chewing Gum - Grrrrr

Was gonna suggest liquid nitrogen, but think the freezer idea may be easier/more accessible

Re: Chewing Gum - Grrrrr

If freezing doesn't work, there is a chewing gum remover in the Stain Devil range.

Re: Chewing Gum - Grrrrr

Hi all,

ta for all the advice. The freezer failed so I popped to our local wilkinsons to try and find some of the stain devil stuff. Antway I got this spray on stuff for £3.99 which I am pleased to say has worked a treat.

The mat is now clean again.

Cheers
