Clay Bar when to use???

Hi All

I have bought a load of stuff for sorting the paintwork out on my Magic Black Fabia. What I want to know is do I use the clay bar before or after using the Poorboys SSR1. Its a Maguires Clay Smooth clay kit that I have bought.

Many Thanks

Simon

Under steer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and over steer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you

Wash the car, using a mild washing up liquid for a foamer ( this removes most traces of old wax ) clay the car as per instructions, wash the car properly, and start the polish/wax routine.

Re: Clay Bar when to use???

Just make sure the car is completely clean before use and make sure the clay is well lubricated, also keep re moulding the clay so that you have a clean suface for every panel...

Cheers

Cut the bar into four, this in case you drop the clay on the floor.

Re: Clay Bar when to use???

Wash the car, 2 bucket method, and give it a good rinse but don't bother drying it. Clay the car and then you'll need to re-wash the car and dry it before going onto the polishing stage. Plan for a minimum of half a day. If your going to do wash/clay/wash/dry/polish/wax then that's going to be a full day and if you haven't got a PC or rotary then your going to have aching arms and probably back ache as well .
If you aren't sure of anything have a look on detailingworld.com and there is all the info you could want, especially in the 'guides' section .
And as a final warning - detailing becomes totally obsessive .

Re: Clay Bar when to use???

What aren't you happy with, you won't get rid of swirl marks on VAG paint without a rotary of pc. Have a good read up on detailingworld and you should be able to find the answer to most problems.
