| Well today i've been up since the early hours cleaning both the cars (Octavia and Golf). So thought i'd share what I did with you all if it helps I washed both cars with Halfords Advanced car wash and rinsed off. Dried with a microfibre towel and the autoglym blade. Next I applied Halfords Glass cut to all the windows of both cars and left to wipe off later. On the Golf I went over the 100km worth of stone chips it had built up with the chip stick from turtle wax. Also as i'd never done this on the golf (i had previously done this on octavia) since i bought it i used the meguires clay bar over the entire vehicle using the meguires quick mist supplied with it for lubrication. This really did take off so much crud!! The clay bar was black/brown when finished with. The next step was to apply Turtle wax black colour magic over the entire vehicle to try and tidy up the paint work (it really is/was in bad nick after the life this car has had). This was applied and buffed off using halfords 100% cotten cloth which you just cut to size. I used this oppertunity to remove the glass cut from the golf at this stage. Now on both cars i applied a layer of Autoglym super resin polish, then buffed off using more of the halfords cotten cloth. I then used this oppertunity to remove the glass cut from the octavia as its very dusty so when buffing off the wax its a good chance to do windows too. Next i Washed the wheels on both with wonders wheels and washed off then applied autoglym alloy wheel protector. Next on the Octavia I tidied up the black plastic trim and tyres using turtle wax back to black. This was the octavia clean and shiny! I finished up adding an extra layer of wax to the Golf being black unlike the octavia I find it need just that little bit 'more' to finish off the clean so i applied and buffed off a layer of Autoglym Deep gloss protection as this is really good on dark colours like black. The like the Octavia i tidied up all the trim and tyres with back to black. Done!! Here is the evidence!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Phew!!! Wish the garden was bigger as you can see alot of musical cars during the day!! Hope this will be of use to someone. ![]()

Well, it'd give me a break from knitting ![]() They used to advertise a product on one of the shopping channels that supposedly caused water to sheet off. I don't know if it was any good, though, nor for that matter whether the droplets are in fact desirable to show that the car has been waxed and cared for? Don't worry about mum by the way - we mum's have learned how to swerve about on the road to avoid dust patches ![]() Best Mo | |

yup... I like the droplets when its wet for the very reason you described, shows some work has gone into the car. Also it looks 'newer' than it actually is when its all droplets, which is quite a good look for a 2001 100k car!! ![]()
