Cleaning the brake callipers

Just washed my furby vRS and realised that the green callipers I love so much are almost black at the moment. Does anyone have any tips for cleaning them? I don't seem to have any cleaning tools that will reach!

I find the only way to get at the calipers properly is taking the wheels off 312's and 16" wheels don't give much clearance for cleaning.

I use VIROSOL and a bunch of tesco value toothbrushes to clean both the alloys and calipers etc. Great product & cheap compared to other alloy cleaning products.

A google search tells you how popular it is.

Re: Cleaning the brake callipers

I spray mine up with wheel cleaner then use a old tooth brush to scrub the dirt off. Bit easier though with octy alloys.

I am in love with your wheels. Are they single?

Alas not.

They got divorced from thier previous husband, and being the casinova I am I charmed them away from him. They are now very firmly married to me (& the car)

Changing subject of the thread slightly (though as the thread creator I'm entitled!), how much did it cost to colour the wheels mate? I totally love the matte dark-gunmetal effect.

They are finished in Satin Black from BJV Engineering
The work was done by the previous owner of the wheels at the above location IIRC it was about £100-£125 for the four of them.
