The cleaning of a Fabia VRS seats

Had a few marks on the white / cream areas of my Vrs seats so went to halfords and got a tin of Car Plan's Stain Valet (brush head on the top) to try and clean them up a bit.

Well it removed the stains but it left a, what can only be described as a wet mark on the seats..........not sure how to remove this but i'll give it a go.

My verdict, great at removing stains but not for use on light coloured seats.

If your not careful you can end up with a dirty ring (water marks) at the edges where you stopped cleaning. Use a wet (and clean) cloth to make sure all the dirt has gone, then dry. I use a vacuum cleaner capable of sucking up water to fully dry it.

Never used Car Plan, I've only used Autoglym interior shampoo.

Re: The cleaning of a Fabia VRS seats

There was a post on here not 2 long ago, dont go buying halfords spray witht the brush on top, all u need is 'Shout' of '1001' stain remover spray, costs about £2 and is just as good.
1. hoover seats
2.spray evenly with stain remover
3.wipe seats with a clean slightly damp cloth, rinsing the cloth regularly
4.wipe again with a dry clean cloth
5.hoover again if nessecary, but wait till the seats r dry (sometimes u get bits of cloth come of when ur rubbing the seats)

Re: The cleaning of a Fabia VRS seats

1001 STAIN REMOVER

Best thing to clean your vrs seats with is 1001 STAIN REMOVER you can buy this from tesco for bout £3.50 and it is excellent, makes your seats look brand new

1. Make seat clean of crumps and fluff ext.
2. Spray 1001 on all part of the seat other wise your get clean patches
because you will be suprised how dirty your seats will be.
3. Use damp cloth in curcular mosion until soaked in.
4. Wait for it to dry and then go over with hoover.

All this info is on the back of the bottle.

Re: The cleaning of a Fabia VRS seats

If you want to do a really good job, go and get a vax with an upholstery tool (about £30 on ebay) or hire a rug doctor and give the whole car a proper clean carpets and seats, and do the house too while you have it.

You will be amazed at how much muck comes out and you will have done the whole seat so no chance of clean spots showing up.

£30 vs £800(approx)

Can't say it would be a choice for me in the current economic circumstances.
