| Re: Cleaning For The First Time Go to Halfords and get a load of Autoglym stuff. While its not the best out there its certainly good stuff and many people in the trade still use it failing that i could recommend products all day |

| Re: Cleaning For The First Time The easiest and best way by hand is to do the following: Hose/pressure wash car down thoroughly. Use two bucket method, wash mitt, and Auto Glym body shampoo to clean car. Fill one bucket with shampoo (you only need 2 capfuls) and the other with just clean water. Do a panel at a time and rinse the wash mitt out in the clean water. Repeat till you've done the whole car. For the wheels use Autogylm Wheel Cleaner and a sponge/wash mitt. Then use a Meguiars Clay Bar and Quick Detailer to get rid of any other bits on the paint. Do small sections at a time, applying plenty of Quick Detailer as a lubricant. Cut the clay into two pieces and fold it a few times before using it. Rub it gently across the paint. Rinse the car down and dry it. Then apply two coats of Autogylm Ultra Deep Shine using microfibre cloths. Use small amounts, cover the whole car then wipe off. Then repeat. Finally to seal everything in use Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection. When you apply this you'll think your only putting tiny amounts on and you'll end up putting far too much on each panel. But as above, only use tiny amounts, cover the whole car and wipe off with microfibre cloths. If you want to you can wait 24 hours and wash/dry the car then add a second coat. I used to use this method on mine before I got a porter cable and the results were amasing!

| Re: Cleaning For The First Time If your using Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection you don't need wax Or instead of the AG EGP you could apply a decent wax instead but I found that EGP lasts longer and is more durable than a lot of waxes

| Briskodian | Re: Cleaning For The First Time Could you not use the extra gloss protection AND wax? I've just ordered some 915 collinite and this was what I was going to do. Plan was to spend all day sort the outside and hopefully I can just wash it for the next 6 months with minimal hassle maximum shine!! |
