| Briskodian | Cleaning under front seats. I took SWMBO xmas shopping yesterday (for a whole 7 hours ![]() ), and on the way back she decided to "drop" her coffee. She split it over the centre consol (were the handbrake is located) The thing is, its gone under both front seats and stained the carpets. It looks a real mess so is there any way to remove the front seats to wash the carpets? Should there be anything to look out for when removing the drivers seat? (wires ect) I`ve had a quick look to see how to remove them but couldnt see anything obvious to do. Mk1 octy VRs btw. Thanks in advance |

| Re: Cleaning under front seats. Do a search for a full rundown, but basically: Disconnect battery. Push seats forward, remove the small round covers in the plastic trim covering the seat rails, remove torx screw under each cover, remove said cover. Push seats right back, undo the two 13mm nuts in the center of the seat at the front edge. Push seat back so the studs are now free of the bracket. Lift seat front up about 10", undo all the wiring plugs going to the seat, (Airbag, seatbelt buckle, and maybe heated seats?) Takes about 5 mins per seat to remove, make sure the battery is disconnected though otherwise when you reconnect the airbags there may be a loud noise P.S. When airbags are disconnected do not connect battery and put the ignition on, otherwise you will record an airbag fault code that will need clearing. |
