| After two annoying washes using a chamois leather on my new car I was very pleased and impressed to buy this waffle weave drying towel that actually performed as well as has been claimed. The car was dry within a few minutes without any spots or streaks. I've already asked how it compares with the Meguirs Water Magnet here - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/styli...-magnet/55979/ My only disappointment is that although the wash was thorough I still manage to pick up some dirty on the towel from near the lower sections of the car, particularly around the wheel arches and the wheels. If I dry the tyres (as some guides recommend prior to gel and shining) then I'm bound to pick up some grime. Is this dirt on the drying towel normal? Assuming I give the towel a good wash should I be careful about how I use next time or have I just ruined the towel by picking up a bit of dirt? Surely I don't need to buy another one. |

| Just out of interest where did you get this from, or how does the price compare with the Megs Water Magnet?

| I didn't have time to shop around and since I didn't know any where locally that sold them I bought it from eBay for £11 including P&P and probably didn't get as good a price as I could have - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...e=STRK:MEWN:IT I've seen the Meguiars water magnet in Halfords for around £12/£13 and just looking on eBay now, they are similar in price if not more than the Poorboy's towel. I don't know which is better. |

| Sounds like you've got some tar spots on the car maybe, that haven't been removed with normal washing. They'd then transfer onto the towel when you're drying. I'd certainly avoid drying the tyres and wheels anyway, nature will take its course with those! Or use an old towel if you must do it.... So I'd look to see if there's any bits you've missed when you cleaned. If they're tar spots, Autogylm and Meg's both do specific products for this IIRC. On towel cleaning, I just put anything I use (Water Magnet/microfibre towels/sheepskin mit) into the washing machine on a short 40deg cycle with a bit of non-bio detergent. HTH Steve

| I've just bought a Giant Microfibre Car Valeting Water Magnet Drying Cloth off Ebay. £4.59 + £1.20 postage. Sounds similar to the Megs and Poorboys stuff but a fair bit cheaper. Will post a report when I get it as to whether its any good (although I've never used the others so won't be able to do a comparison).
