| Anybody got any good suggestions for removing the white scuzz that seems to build up around the washer jets etc apart from a tooth brush and a good scrubbing. Now that winter is over the stuff can be less concnetrated so I'm hoping there would be less build up. Failing that any recomended brands of stuff that don't do this?

| Skoda dealers stock stuff designed specially for the fan type jet fitted to most of the VAG cars these days. |

| Ahh fair enough, my dealer just kept giving me random packets of stuff when it went in for service, so i just bout a 5 litre tub of halfords advanced which has been used in all cars. Off to teh dealers for some real stuff next time I'm up there then.

| Since the dealer has been putting in various brands of screenwash that were not VW approved, i guess they would cover it if the jet blocks. Ta for the part number I'll go grab a bottle. So much for them topping it up at service. Grrr

| I don't like the halfords stuff - seems to block them up and leave a mess more than other washer fluids. I use Rain-X Screen Wash which seems to be pretty good, not cheap mind.

| Rain-X stuff was more than dealers so will go to dealers. The halfords advanced wasn't too bad, but the cheap stuff was awful in one of my parents car. TBH it was lateish, I was out of wash, there is a halfords near work and it was below zero outside. At that time you couldn't drive on the M'way without screen wash due to the filthy spray so as the dealers had put anything in it seemed better than water and a cracked washer bottle. It's frustrating that even a main dealer can't keep to what skoda says when it makes them a little bit more money. I wasn't even aware there was a specific wash for the car.

| Can you get the VAG proper stuff in anything bigger that a one litre bottle which is all my local dealer says they have available. I litre diluted with 4 litres of water may be ok in summer (I think my washer bottle capacity is about 5 litres as I have headlight wash) but won't go very far in winter time when I understand the dilution rate is 1litre and 2 litres of water. Is the Halfords pink advanced a definite no no - I've got 10L of the stuff that I got on offer for my old car (now scrapped) plus also some of the ordinary Halfords blue windscreen wash which was fine in the old car but it didn't have fan jets. |

| Morrisons were selling the Texaco stuff (Bright orange) which is apparently approved in accordance with Volkswagen TL52 184 whatever that is. 32ml will do the whole tank (Unless you have xenons). I use Carplan Apple screenwash from tescos and I have not problems with white residue etc. I really does smell of apples too! |

| The advanced was the concentrated stuff that you can get in various flavours (if you desire) that you dilute. What size does the texaco stuff come in, and as has been pointed out 1 liter won't do more than a week or two in the depths of winter.

| 32ml bottles. One shot per tank. It's seems to be uber concentrated. |

| Oh I have the 5 liter tank, and have a few little sachets of that stuff, not a lot of use though as I litterally go through a tank a week during winter driving and IIRC you need three of those bottles for winter temperature protection.
