tyre valve locking dust caps

Just noticed I lost the dust caps on my octy, I expect probably from pressure washer use

I was just about to go down to halfrauds and get some replacement plastic ones for a couple of quid, when I started thinking...."there must be some sort of locakable variety so I don't lose them again....hmmm?..."

Anyway quickly discovered richbrook and they do some with various manufacturer logos including skoda. Tempted to get them just for the hell of it, they're not a fortune but obviously more than plastic caps

Does anyone have these and what do you all think? I'm guessing there will be a mixed reaction

Anti Theft Valve Caps Most car logo and Other Styles are Available

Re: tyre valve locking dust caps

Just make sure they are not made from Aluminium. Cant go wrong the the plastic black caps.

I learned the hard way, I had to have 2 valves replaced as I couldn't get them off my car.

They are all easy to take off or could corrode on.

Of course if somebody was putting your van tyres down that might be useful

Re: tyre valve locking dust caps

I believe they are nickel plated brass.....

reason for looking at them was so that I don;t keep losing them myself during pressure wash etc......not necessarily as an anti-theft thing

Re: tyre valve locking dust caps

I gave up with chrome valve caps, when I tried them they would be on the car for a day or two and then get stolen. I tried the so called anti-theft ones with the same result, stolen within days. After that happened 5 times, I went back to the black plastic ones and had no problems of theft since. The anti-theft ones are just as easy to nick, the thiefs just carry the same tools you use to secure them and take them off.

Since my last set of so called anti theft caps were take I have just left them with no caps on.

However I have had some new falkens a few months back and the fitted the alloy caps again and they are still there
