Re: Briskoda Wiki

Ok you can have a standalone wiki today.

I've still not heard back from the integration folks at nuwiki...so an itegrated one is not likely to happen.

So standalone on a subdomain, is that ok for everyone, afterall anyone who would take on a wiki posting role, would I suspect be able to cope with the concept of registering again.

Re: Briskoda Wiki

Colin,

Me and auroan have successfully setup vbulletin and media wiki with a shared user database, well we did until auroans server HDD died

So it can be done, if you have a look at the links posted before! i am not sure which one auroan used but it worked well.

Re: Briskoda Wiki

Alex,

I know it can be done, I've done a few times before, creating threads for each page and all that jazz. That's not the point, it's unsupported software and a potential bug point when a change occurs in either vb or wiki.

Thus breaking one, or both sites till it's disabled or fixed, being unsupported that's not likely to happen unless somebody rolls up the php sleeves.

I've installed mediawiki on a slice of the server so it's ready to go.

Re: Briskoda Wiki

I was looking at adding wiki to a project I'm toying with that has vbulletin already

The best option I found was called NuWiki - nuHIT.com - NuWiki Features

This would basically turn forum posts into auto wiki topics!

Might I suggest a member profile for everybody linked to your username... a more in depth one that will allow some of you showoffs to showcase your car

Yes it's the best option, but at the moment it's not an option for it's 99% unsupported. When the developer returns to it I'll update my license. I have one and despite a few emails now, with no response I've no intention of installing it.

I'm trying to get the forums back to a clean install point, removing things / items that are not supported / leave holes in it.

It can however be added in later if the need genuinely arises.

Just registered, and had a quick look - when can you start doing the guides, do you have to get permission from Colin or the moderator team?

At the mo the wiki isn't capable of hosting images. Which is a problem. Plus we need some other config changes doing.

So hopefully soon

Re: Briskoda Wiki

Where do "remaps" come into your categories???

May I suggest revising the 2 intake & exhaust categories to 1 engine category??

Looking good though - now just the content to get sorted!!

There are tons of guides currently in the forum that need to be moved over to the wiki, thats probably a good place to start.

Re: Briskoda Wiki

I'm sure this could (tentatively) fit in with the wiki:

I tried searching for a 'How to..' guide with photos today for removing Fabia door cards that I know existed yet it'd disappeared. It was created by Xavier yet endless searches and even following his link turns nothing up. It's this sort of thread that would be ideal for the wiki yet seem to have been 'lost'.

Any chance it's been backed up somewhere and can still be added to the wiki?
