new posts not highlighted

over the past month or so , when i go the forums , almost all the threads are in the pale blue colour , as they used to be when i've read all the posts in the thread , well as i've hardly read any of the threads they should be highlighted in the darker blue , i.e. a thread having unread posts

its just a bit annoying checking the threads i've posted in, for new posts in the thread

i hope you understand what i mean here , as i don't seem to be putting it across vey well

My new posts are still either not highlighted at all or everything is highlighted.

Most other forums have a 'NEW POSTS' section which i feel makes browsing the new posts and questions a million times easier than having to go into each catagory?

does anyone agree or even understand?

Errr, this one has a "new posts" button too!

It used to list posts that may not have new posts, but you haven't read them...

Have updated the post tracking system options. Anything over 14 days appears as read. It's not on your cookie now.

New problem (after the post tracking update?): everything under 14 days appears as unread! When I seek for new posts I get 250!

Aaahhh! Suddenly I noticed the new magic trick - the line that reads "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts."

I've kinda got a similar problem...... When i use the 'subscribed threads' every single one of my subscribed threads..... a few hundred of them..... are all now highlighted as unread.

Is this related at all???

I’ve just visited my CP to see if there are any updates in previously replied to threads and the thing is lit up like a Christmas tree………well not exactly a Christmas tree, but tons and tons of threads that have been inactive for a few days seem to have reapered as if I haven’t revisited them recently

:c onfused:. Weird and a bit confusing. Please, please, please Colin can we have ispy back? I loved it.

we've gone from one extreme to another now , all the threads are highlighted , even ones where i was the last person to post in it

Well I had to set it back to old cookie cutter ways, which would of caused a bit of chaos. Alas the db was getting mauled...so it was that or lots of come back later messages.

With not much change on the db it seems a little happier, I've also updated to a raw source over encrypted source of a few plugins. All this means that we can now go back to the overall *once it settles in* database post marking system.

However while it migrates from one to the other you will notice some read and some not. It will begin to settle out, which is good as I'm about to change the webserver software too, too long has apache clogged up my processors pipelines

Lre ispy, let me get apache sorted, then I'll get to the site. I've got a fair few things to put back / freedomise / improve navigation etc.

Keep an eye on freedom notices, it will appear there first
