New server

As the community is growing, the hardware requirements of the server do too. That's why we are pleased to announce that from today onwards we have a new home!

The transition should be without any problems and it should be transparent to all members whilst all the DNS settings are changed to reflect the new set up. Sometimes a little down-time is required though, but we are trying to keep disruption to a minimum.

Bring on the next 18000 members

Colin & Q (and the rest of the team of course)

Clicking on the freedom link at the top of the page gives the following error.

Invalid forum path specified! Please edit this file and be sure to include the correct path for your $forumpath variable.

Using quick reply, the thread page does not refresh leading me to think the previous post didnt work until you click post reply again and get the duplicate post message.

We are actually running voer two servers. The problems above, I'll look into, but they will disappear, hence the red text note above

Thanks I'd missed a buried include setting int he db, part of a mod...ironically it's going, but for for now it's fixed...

Could not reproduce, so assumed for the moment that it's a caching / dns issue, so I've turned it off for the short term.

I've also lost the "edit" button on my posts...... Although looking again i have the "edit" button in this thread but not in any of the other forums....... Is it something your aware of Colin / Chaps?

I'm sure it is related to the whizbang magic that the quick edit button performed, which in the current situation has been disabled to improve the slight delay in database access that we have whilst in the transition period. Rest assured, everything will be restored as it was when we are completely over.

That doesn't mean you're not going to see any new site changes of course

Ok weird one...... I don't get the edit button on old posts..... I do however get the edit button immediatly after posting a reply..... like this one for instance.... but only for that reply.... As soon as i leave Briskoda and come back again i lose the edit button all together again.

Right added a 30 min tmer on edits, so after 30 mins you can't retract what was said...may change that per forum, so for sale etc.
