Re: Open posting, suggest your self as a moderator

OK, after sleeping on it i've decided to throw myself into the mix as well.

I've been posting on this site for quite a while now and I would like to think a vast proportion of my posts are of a helpful nature. I have a reasonable knowledge of cars but nothing like the more godlike figures we have on this site.

I am usually on here every day for a good few hours at least and it's EASILY my most visited website by a mile.

I haven't attended a meet or such like due to work commitments etc so I don't know anyone personally which may work against me but could also be an advantage as I would have no personal influence when it comes to moderation issues.

I spend most of my time in the Octavia II section mainly due to driving/owning 2 of them so if anywhere this is where I feel I could be of most use.

I also try and make new members welcome as often as I can.

If the allocation for the Octy II section is full then fair enough and i'll try again in the future but if I can give something back to Briskoda then I am more than willing to help.

Re: Open posting, suggest your self as a moderator

I've been thinking of my reasoning as well

I've been using the forum every day since september and feel as if I contribute to the forum where I can.

I'm on here most of the day as well and can easily spot if there is any trouble/banter arising.

I attend the meets that we hold and am the first to post up a scots meet that happens twice a month, I have also sorted out a scottish meet for briskoda happening in the next two weeks up in Perth. And I feel I am a good judge of banter in the scottish region if members overstep the mark as I know most of them by face.

My main intrest is the fabia section and general chat and the scottish region areas of the forum.

As dstev2000 says I also make the new members welcome and answer any queries they may have instead of telling them to post in the relevent section to avoid the likes of double posts.

And the fact that I love Skoda's should count as well.

Hope this is a fair point of view

Davy

Re: Open posting, suggest your self as a moderator

I thought that I would put my name down if it's not too late

I am basically on here every night and I do look about for any spam nucience.

I am very impartial to any arguments on here, I would tend to take the mediation approach.

I don't like getting into arguments, so I would tend to try and cool things down.

I have not been on here forever but I do tend to spend time in the Fabia section and the members section and hopefully have provided some usefull knowledge that I have picked up over the years.

I do take a look on here during the day but I tend to spend most of the time late evening and weekends on here.

I just thought it would be good to put something back into a site that I personally think is fantastic, It has saved me money and also somewhere you can go and get away from things for a few hours.

I like the fact that if somebody has a genuine problem, I can offer some assistance too.

Just my thoughts,

Ben

Re: Open posting, suggest your self as a moderator

is this moderator malarky still up for grabs???

another member contacted me this morning and asked me why i hadn't put my name forward, and the truth is i must have missed this thread completely due to the fact that i haven't been round much lately due to personal problems... but i'm kinda back now and i miss this site

i'd like to be considered for moderating the felicia forum, i do kinda know my way round these cars now having spent hours looking at them in breakers yards, i've built up a usefull knowledge of engines/gearboxes/wiring/suspension/steering etc .also i've got the q-felicia project in the projects section of the site(which is long overdue an update)

Any further updates now the first batch of new mods are all up and running?

Its been a couple of weeks since myself (and several others) applied and I've not seen any response as yet?
