| Well, just sat here bored, and the thought crossed my mind about why don't we - the site - have a national meet. I believe it has been done before, and i'm sure the organisation is time consuming etc, but surely with the enourmous membership the site has, we could pull together and knock up some kind of national show? Kind of like Ultimate Dubs - but for Skoda's, or the Dosky event in CZ? Ford owners have Central Day at Santa pod for example.......

| Things are already under discussion in the back room. It wouldn't be fair or right for me to divulge anything yet as it is far from a dead cert but suffice to say Colin has a plan and some dates are being negotiated.

| Rough plan and it is rough owing to having to satisfy so many different interests is thus: Friday night meal / social. Saturday Airfield Day with 600 parking / paddock for show n shine, hood up bling, polishing triumphs and all round gandering, whilst a few others run around an airfield. Saturday night social / camping / bbq / meal near to airfield (about 5 miles) Sunday, as people feel / explore local area. I can't afford to do it out of funds, so I'm trying to work out a pricing model, this might be slightly better if we had the airfield for 2 days. Odd as that sounds but we save enough such that it's almost the cost of one day. Problem is filling it for two days to cover costs. So I'm looking at some options, but trying to keep it accessible. The otehr option is a mid weekday, e.g. friday with social in evening. If this occurs I could do the trackday for freedom members, so long as 30 turned up I'd eat that loss, but for <50 quid I'd hope they would. A Saturday it's going to be at least 100 for the track work (based on 70 track users), assuming everyone pays up. Parking and paddock, I'd hope to make that as close to zero as possible, again if all slots go, it would be... Of course a friday won't attract a huge amount of people. It will also be in the NE as it's the only viable location cost wise where we can also do something. e.g. we could have a national meet on one of the alton towers car parks for no outlay, except everyone going to AT...which for a family is more than the cost of a track day + fuel to go that bit further north. I'll try and get a draft flyer out this week to freedom folks, with prices / ticket options. If it clears the minimum I'll put the sizable deposit down, if not then I'll start looking for empty car parks again.

| Other things that might help / attract is the site has karting, quad bikes, motocross events and even there own supply of supercars to have a ride in... And we might even be able to twist a formula ford team to make an appearance, failing that your fabia will do ![]()

Hmm, Cadwell Park springs to mind there. The Fabia would cost more per lap to hire than the supercars on site Colin, with it being considerably much superior ![]()

| If this gets the go ahead then it could/should be one helluva meet for everyone, looking forward to it already As a side show/thought, could we have 0-60 timed runs as it seems to have some interest in other threads where a national meet has been discussed, but I'm not sure how much it would cost to hire the timing gear and whether the venue has a long enough stretch of tarmac to do it ![]() Bring it on ![]()
