| Hi mates! My 1st post to this forum although I have spend many hours browsing through the different topics! Anyway, I have a 2005 Superb with LHD and was thinking of getting a boost gauge meter installed on left A-pillar. However there is suppose to be an airbag installed inside that pillar and that got me a bit worried about the meter installation.. I was thinking to use a housing like this: Carzone but only for a one meter -model, not three. Has anyone of you installed anything on that place and did you confront any difficulties along the way with an airbag located to that same space? rgds, FinPatch |

Hmmmmm... a boost guage... Personally, I think the Superb isn't really the type on vehicle that one would fit a boost guage to. And given the front curtain airbags are under the A post trim, I certainly would avoid fitting one there in any event! | |

| Welcome also..... As Numskull mentioned, I wouldn't mess with the pillars in my car for fear of setting off the curtain airbag.

| Its not so much setting it off, more like if it did go off and buries a boost gauge in your head.

| My car was built in 2002, therefore has no curtain airbags...I think. |

| Yep, I have thought also that airbag-thing and its consequences if it goes off.. But mainly was I thinking that because I don't know the real area which is reserved for the bag and then maybe there would be a space left for the meter at the bottom of that A post trim.. But for sure, that's not anyway the safest place to install any gadgets without having the clear image what's beneath the surface.. I'll have another thought for the surface mounting for that meter...I still want it 'cause I think it would tell me several things about my Turbo & its condition..

| I can't get that link to work at 'work' but I would be interested in this mod as I don't have the curtain airbags and if I could source a pod with the same trim as the Superb and it's easy to fit then I would be interested.... If you do go aheard with this then please update us or me with your work mate....

| Here is actually a quite good thread how to install these things and it shows handy this airbag design also.. Googleing with keywords "installing boost gauge tdi" will help a lot. VWvortex Forums: 42 draft design a-pillar pod boost gauge install
