Default Electric mirror fault

Hi folks,

Ive had a fault develop with my superb electric folding mirrors. I folded them in with the switch last week when i was in the city. when i came to drive home, i could not fold them out with the switch, so they were stuck. We carefully folded them out by hand so the car was safe to get home. But obviously they are not 'clipped' into the correct points as the motors are stuck shut.

Any ideas?

As an aside the battery is now kaput as well! I have it on a charger at the minute but as ive read on here they can fail so its probably time for a new one as its still the original.

Car is 03 1.9 elegance.

I gather you mean both mirrors mate???
Check the obvious as you are already...sounds like a new battery could be the answer, as you say, the Superb has been known to flatten batteries fairly rapidly in the past...
Let us know how you get on...at least when your current battery has charged

hi, this happened me when i first purchased my superb, i folded the mirrors as i was staying in a B&B which was on a narrow street, and the next morning they would not fold back out, it turns out that these folding mirrors are on a circuit breaker which in time resets itself, Reckon mine were probably never folded and were a bit seized, since this happened i regularly fold them in and out and problem has not occured since,
Hope this helps.
