| Briskodian | Hey folks That's us finally got a dog (greyhound) and so we decided the easiest thing was for me to trade my superb in. Picking up an Octy II 1.9tdi elegance this week from dealers in Ayr. The salesman there was great (Drew). Seems a good time of year to get a 2nd hand car. Anyway - I'll no doubt pop in and out of the Superb forum but most likely be pestering the Octy owners for advice from now on My 04 plate 2.5 v6 tdi was great. Totally reliable, fast, smooth, quiet, and I thought fairly efficient. 35k miles in 2 years and only one service, so can't complain either. Thanks to everyone here for all the ideas when I had some questions ![]() |

| Briskodian | Re: The end of my Superb ownership Unfortunately my 1.8T looks like it will be going too in March, I caravan and the 1.8T engine just doesnt pull enough weight and leaves us limited to what we can move up to, The Superb is also the first salooon car I have ever owned and I have also found this to be a problem especially having to small children and all the stuff we need to take when we going out annoying other motorists! That being said it is by far the best car I have ever owned even with having to have a new water pump after 39K and water ingression twice! This has left me with a major dialema, what do I buy to replace it that will even be a patch on it, you cant pick up many cheep cars that have the specs, ride quality and interior space of a Superb! |

Try a 2.5v6tdi - there will be a mint one going in Ayr this very week, although road tax will be higher than you are used to. ![]() I think it won caravan towcar of the year, a few years back. Oh, and yes its the estate I'll be getting.... tomorrow I had to go for elegance trim to get the level of comfort I'm used to in my superb comfort. The 1.9 isn't too short of pace either, and I'm sure it can be chipped for towing / performance | |

| Briskodian | Re: The end of my Superb ownership I know what you mean. From the outside and once you are drving the Octy estate it doesn't seem much smaller, however I do notice the difference in things like location of handbrake and amount of room from gear stick to fascia, and getting in and out, the doors are quite clearly smaller, now that I've been in and out a few times. Guess i'll need to trim down from my 6'3" 20 stone size. ![]() |

| Briskodian | Re: The end of my Superb ownership I expect so, but last I heard the company hadn't finally decided whether to send it back straight away. There is about a year left on the lease. If it does go back then someone will get a bargain, I've just had the 80k service done including the belt change and put two new tires on it. |
