| Briskodian | Experience of superb 1.9tdi pd 130 elegance Basically I have just managed to write off my dad's superb 1.8T comfort so he is now looking for a replacement, thought a diesel would be better this time round as he does a fair few miles. What is your experience of this vehicle and how well does the engine manage to lug it around- (thought that a remap may be in order) thanks for your help, James |

| Re: Experience of superb 1.9tdi pd 130 elegance Don't have the Elegance trim, only Comfort...however the pd130 lump is well suited to the car, especially at motorway cruising speeds. He will have to test drive the pd130, as they aren't as refined round town as the 1.8T being diesel, but that negative is overtaken by the more relaxed cruising and greater mpg of the pd130.....well I think so anyway.

| Re: Experience of superb 1.9tdi pd 130 elegance ...PD130's a great engine in the superb and prob suits it better than a 1.8T in a big car. remaps are *stonking* on these, too...!

I love driving a tdi, much better then a petrol engine car anyday. I have had 3 Passats before and the Superb is a much better car although it is a Passat under the skin, Skoda do a better job of building them. That stretch in the chassis makes all the differance in the world to the way the car drives and rides. You say not to go for the Elegance trim but have the Comfort trim instead, why? I'm thinking of getting one next time around in 18 months time as the price is now around the same as I paid for the Comfort with Sat Nav, Cargo Flex and heated front seats. You now get a lot more for the same money, leather seats, electric seats etc. If you know something, please share it with the rest of us. | |

I would have had an Elegance when I bought mine 3 yrs 2months ago, but I couldn't quite justify the extra £2k in price. On balance, I should have bitten the bullet and gone for at least a full leather upgrade.
