| Fitting time/cost for rear brake pads.... Just had new rear brake pads fitted by the main dealer in Nottingham, following on from a service a couple of weeks ago. Cost of pads was, I think, reasonable at £25.00. But what I thought was an absolute rip off was the fitting charge - £67.00 !!!! This was one hours labour. And must not forget the VAT on top of parts and labour. How long does it take to fit rear pads to a Superb? Have I been ripped off or what?? And as for the cost of the service, they had even charged me for screenwash fluid..... but when I pointed out the fact I had topped it right up to the brim the night before it went in for service they agreed not to charge for it!! Would be interested to know what others think about the charge.

| Re: Fitting time/cost for rear brake pads.... I reckon they can be changed in 30 minutes, but to do a proper job (bit of a clean up, grease up etc), including time getting on and off the ramp etc, 1hr is about right. £108 for a rear pad change isn't diabolical imho.

| Re: Fitting time/cost for rear brake pads.... You need a special winding tool to do the rear change. I cant remember what I paid for my pads from GSF car parts but I recon it was around £25. Took about 30 mins to do the change once I figured out about the need for the winding tool.
