The length of the beast!

The Superb is as we all know a very long car.
What I have found, where I live in Gloucestershire, is that a lot of people seem to assume it is a lot smaller than it is. Maybe a Fabia, as there is a lot of family look to the front of all current Skodas. I have lost count of the times people have started to pull out to slot in behind me on roundabouts and junctions, and they either have to brake again, or they so nearly clip the back end of the car. And no, its not because I drive slowly
Has anyone else found this at all, or any other problems due to its sheer size?

Cheers

PS, Love it to bits, just wish it had leather seats as well. We call it the Luxobarge!

Re: The length of the beast!

I normally drive a Fabia vRS but had a Superb for a couple of hours.

I drove onto my dirve and stopped in my normal position only to find the back wheels still on the path.

I got some very funny looks from the neighbours....

Re: The length of the beast!

I pride myself with my reverse parking skills but trying to abandon the barge in some marked street parking spaces can be a mega challenge

I've had to drive round in circles, passing free spaces, simply because the vehicle either side is too near the white lines and my lovely Superb won't fit in

Thinks: Local authorities etc should have spaces reserved solely for the use of Superb drivers (especially Superb Elegance drivers............

Re: The length of the beast!

It's weird - it feels longer than my previous car (Saab 9-5) though it is actually slightly shorter.

Does tend to be too long for most supermarket car park spaces - tend to hang over the edge of the markings....
