Re: MFD with green illumination

If you do fit this unit then you will however loose your steering wheel controls and any information that the radio displays in the dash but I am unsure if you have these on the classic model?

Re: MFD with green illumination

i have a classic with steering wheel controls and maxidot display (mine's the facelifted one)

i know i'd probably loose the steering wheel controls if i get it.

any chance of getting the Skoda software installed. Or perhaps the opening screen changed?

i've not heard of version AB..... any problems with this version?

I know some HU has some connectors that allows the steering remotes to be used....wonder if these work for this unit...

also noticed that the Pioneer AVIC-D3BT looks like a good unit besides the MFD.....hmmm..

Re: MFD with green illumination

I have found software to update a vw a to b, and vw software to update vw d to g
but have never found any skoda software ,the skoda a unit seems to match a vw b unit
and the skoda b unit a vw d unit (its missing the "predictive text" function of the vw g) .

To restore the steering wheel controls and maxidot you may need the traffic information box this interfaces from the mfd to the can bus .

there is a german website where someone has a programme to change the startup splash screen ,add your own voice but at the moment I cannot find the link to the site
Das Navi+ Projekt im Web
"found it edit"

the only other thing that a vw unit does is points you to vw garages not skoda ones .

I have heard this but not heard of anyone having done it and the cost of the parts needed makes it a waste of money IMHO....
