| I'm down to 3 MP3 options and wondered what people's views are. Option 1 is a package to replace the CD changer with a Sony or Alpine MP3 changer. Skoda MP3 Changer - ADD A CD Changer If anyone has tried this how did it go and which unit would they recommend?I'm thinking Sony. Option 2 is a Phatbox but can't find any info on a successful install into a UK Elegance spec Superb unless you know better! I've put some info on the ICE forum with little success. It does sound like a great package. Option 3 is the Denison 400 cable (covered in the forums). I do like the idea of something in the boot and an absolute must is keeping the steering wheel controls / display etc. As ever thoughts appreciated folks. ![]()

| I have considered all these options but with the ease that you can burn CD's from Itunes I have decided to keep the changer and just spend money on cheap blan CD's...... Phatbox would be a good option but your correct in that no-one I know has done this so it would be a risk....you could however be the first..... The best option of the 3 IMHO would be the Dension 400 Cable.

| Guess that's the 4th. I don't own an IPOD or any MP3 player but have put my top 150 mp3s on Tesco blanks and that will do in the short term. I'll then wait to see if Kenwood officially market the phatbox in the UK. Given only cost £18 for the shareware and the cost of blank CD might stay with it.

| IMO, the best way of MP3's in a car is via an iPod and an interface like Alpine's KCA-420. MP3 CD/DVD's are a good option, but are often let down by the poor indexing systems of headunits, OE or otherwise. So, in answer to your question... I'd say change your unit for an iPod compatable unit and buy an iPod. I hate them - but I'm buying one soon because they're (possibly) the best way to get MP3 in your car. |
