Re: Pad wear indicator/Vag com

Have a look in controller 17, you may get a popup guide but it's normally to subtract 1 or 2 from one part of the coding.

Re: Pad wear indicator/Vag com

Did you manage to resolve this issue as I have a 'Check brake pads' warning light on when I start the engine but I know the pads are brand new!!!

Re: Pad wear indicator/Vag com

You need to either chop the sensor wire and twist it together, or fit a new lead, hth.

I did this, easy enough, Cut sensor off pads and join the 2 wires together or

Recode for warning lamps:
17 - Instruments
07 - Recode

Look at the first two digits in the coding. Add the values for the options together to get the correct coding.
00 - No available equipment
+01 - Brake pad wear sensor warning active
+02 - Seatbelt warning active
+04 - Washer fluid level warning active

Re: Pad wear indicator/Vag com

Simon, just snip the wires from the pads at the pad end and twist the wires together, that of live with it until they need new ones, go to GSF and ask for Jurd pads, these come with new sensor wires, hth.

Get all my pads from GSF so they have the sensors but I think that this problem is the vehicle wiring and not the pad wiring, would rather just turn the feature off to be honest as you should really know when you need your pads changing and not relying on a sensor...............
