| I've never tried it, but as the front and rear screens are interchangeable with the Passat I can't see why it shouldn't fit - the roof width is the same. rotodiesel. |

| Roof bars should fit OK, but not sure about a rack as the Superb is longer than the Passat |

| I'm going off a 2003/53 model Passat/Superb, and Halfords list the following parts from Thule: 2003 Passat Saloon: 761 Bars 750 Footpack 1218 Fitting Kit 2003 Superb: 761 Bars 750 Footpack 1257 Fitting Kit I know the Superb bars are correct because, er, I use them. Haven't still got the box though so I can't check the other fitments of the 1257 kit. Anyway, my point is I don't think the Passat bars will fit the Superb - the fitting kit of the Thule system is the only part that touches the car, which of course means it's the only part that is specifically tailored. As the Passat and the Superb use different fitting kits I would suggest one will not fit the other. Hope that helps ![]() |

| Just an update. I did buy the passat roof bars as they were only £35 so worth the gamble and they do fit just. It is just the clamps that go in to the door gap that are different as sugested. However as long as you close the door carefully theres no problem. Its just the door seals that are a bit thicker on the superb. Theres no contact with the body work so for the once a year use mine will get i am happy.

| I was going to ask a very similar question. I have finally given up on getting my employer to buy me a new car, opted out of the company scheme and bought a 2004 Superb. I had a set of Atera roof bars for the 2000 Passat saloon which was my previous vehicle, and was wondering if they would fit the Skoda. The Atera site gives a different reference for the Superb, but the bars seem to fit, though I haven't tightened them up hard yet, as I don't need to use them. |

| i agree with you bluefox.....i too was dithering over wether to purchase the passat roofbars and hope it would fit the superb.....but noticing the difference in part numbers......i decided to use the part for the skoda.....used it last yr on holiday and it was absolutely fine.....tho i did see a car with the roofbox contents over the motorway going towards dover.....made me think if he used the wrong fixing kit for his model....felt rather sorry for him, as the debris was strewn all over the lanes and a fair way back as well!! |

![]() My Thule bars are bulletproof, they've had sofas, Ikea stuff, bikes... even an 8' film drying cabinet on them and they're still going strong ![]() Quote:
This is why I was so reluctant to try/recommend Passat roofbars. To me, it's a safety critical item - so why skimp? The other side of this is the "once a year" argument, which I understand - but I don't know if I'd like all my stuff strewn across the motorway when I was trying to go on holiday. Best tip I give people is to put the heavy stuff in the car - and your clothes in the box. The vast majority of roofbar/roofbox failure is due to overloading... | ||
