Out at work tonight and I was thinking, y'now I might have been a bit critical with the Superb as it's been pretty well ok for over 6 mths now, BIG MISTAKE, on comes the EML with the message Emissions-Workshop!

So having tried the turn it off turn it on to hope it clears itself, nothing doing still got dash lights, I get it home and I find the EGR valve hose has rubbed a hole in itself from the engine cover, I seal it up and hope the EML light is gone, no way sir, still on, so I've undone the battery overnight in the hope it clears.

The engine has been running fine, no rough idle, all the power, turbo kick in etc, so I'm at a loss as to why it's flashed the light at me, any ideas on how to read the faults without using a machine or anyone had the same?

You need some sort of ODB device to read the faults.

I've been having a read up, and the general culprit seems to be the coolant sensor, I think I can get one from GSF for around 20 quid so it might be worth a go as they seem like another weak point anyway.


Cleared itself for now about half n hour ago.
