Re: Power Steering Fluid

I would get the correct VAG engineering spec for the fluid and use it. I believe it's made by Pentosyn but you should check - a mistake here will be costly.

rotodiesel.

Re: Power Steering Fluid

Got some Bilstein stuff from GSF, looks the right consistency and colour, funny how once again the book doesn't state what to use or how to top it up either, hmmm.

Doesn't it...?

I've used the same mineral fluid in my Superb as I did in the mk2 Golf, and I'm sure I checked the specs in both manuals...

Oh well.

I'd appreciate it if you tell me which page it's on in the book, cos I could only find one ref to power steering on about page 174-175 and it said nothing about which fluid to use or if it should be topped up with the engine running or not, so unless I missed something it's not in the owners handbook, I look forward to your reply telling me which page it's on.

Hmm. Just checked the manual and you're right, it's not there...

Ah, I remember now. I got it from Autodata at work, not the Skoda manual. I'll dig out my history tomorrow and see if I can find the spec.

You want the green mineral one mate, and don't overfill it either or you will blow the seals out.

Re: Power Steering Fluid

According to EKTA, PAS fluid is G 002 000 (Qty 1 litre). Don't put the wrong fluid in.

rotodiesel.

Having just read this thread again, I realised I was supposed to answer you...

Sorry. G 002 000 is indeed the fluid I've got. Thanks again Roto!

(Sorry Superbia, I completely forgot)
