| Rear fog lights... Just a quickie really..or I hope. MOT is this Thursday on the Soup and I gave the car a good going over, checking the obvious such as tyres, lights and indicators. Got stuck on the rear fog lights. Am I right in thinking the rear fog light only lights up on the right hand side and not both??? I know some are only one side. If its both sides a bulb has gone Any help out there, thanks Paul ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Rear fog lights... One side only (RHS on RHD cars) as standard. My car now has two rear foglamps as everything is fitted apart from the wiring - its a very simple job to connect up the other lamp. rotodiesel. |

Leagally you only need one but most 'newer' cars either have a central positioned foglamp or two...... Simple mod to wire up the other side though and I have also done this.

| Briskodian | Re: Rear fog lights... I automatically thought there were two. If the lamp unit is present but not wired up, could someone shed some light (!) as to how to wire it? Thanks |

| Re: Rear fog lights... simply take the live feed from the o/s fog lamp, connect a wire going to the n/s fog lamp. Blue scotch locks would be the easiest connection, just not the best way. |

| Briskodian | Re: Rear fog lights... I automatically thought that both worked too! Got a bit of a shock when I checked yesterday. Think I will get the wiring kit out and get them both on. Up to 24 hours ago I didn't know about it and now I will not rest till they are both working!! Sad am I not? |

| Briskodian | Re: Rear fog lights... Can anyone be a bit more precise as to what colour wires to connect. The loom has about six wires going into the light unit. Which colour controls the rear fog? Thanks |

| Briskodian | Re: Rear fog lights... For those who are interested (and it really is a ten minute job), I worked it out (after a blown fuse or two!) On the driver side rear light fitting, scotchlock a wire to the grey and white wire at the left end of the car connector block (there are six wires on this connector block) On the passenger side rear light connector block, there are five wires (a gap where the grey and white wire is absent). Secure the scotchlocked wire into this gap. Reconnect, secure and hide extra wire. Job done. Ensure ignition and lights are turned off whilst doing the wiring. If you bodge it, it's your fault! Anyone know where to get a spare 5A mini fuse? |

| Re: Rear fog lights... You said it. As mentioned above correctly the Superb doesnt have that function to activate the fog lights via vag com. The lights are not controlled by an ECU like the Octavia 2. |
