| Briskodian | Replacement of door interior handles Hi all, could anyone tell me if it is possible to replace the interior door pull handles on the passenger and rear doors(not the chrome ones used to open the doors but the ones used to pull the doors shut), Mine are the rubberised finished and the little darlings sitting so high in the car chairs have managed to completely knacker them with their shoes! I have a feeling there in two parts and that the top part clips of to expose fixing screws underneith, is this correct or is it the bigger job of removing the door cards to get to the fixings, If it is possible does anyone know if they can be purchased seperately and how to get them off if I can buy them, Many thanks |

| Re: Replacement of door interior handles Hi. The interior handles do come off fairly easily. All except the drivers door should unclip just by pulling firmly at both ends of the handle. Do hot wrap your hands around the back and pull, as the back is fixed to the door card. Just grip either side at the top and bottom between finger and thumb and tug. They are held in place by 3 metal clips. There is a small recess on each for the insertion of a screw driver to help with this task, but in my experience does more damage to the handles than it's worth. I take it you have similar problems to me; see earlier post today about flaky door handles.

| Re: Replacement of door interior handles I did buy the handles myself but, luckily from e-bay. I paid about £1.99 for each one from memory. I suspect they would cost a lot more from a dealer ;-)

| Re: Replacement of door interior handles It was well over a year ago and I cannot remember the seller's details but it was a private seller and not a trader. They were brand new and I have never seen any on there since, just struck lucky I guess ![]() The remarkable thing was that no one else made a bid on them so I literally got them at the starting price. I just assumed it meant that a) there were few ivory interiors out there and b) those that were didn't have the same problem with flaking ![]() I still have two at home that I haven't fitted yet as the drivers door and the rear right hand side door aren't too bad and don't really need replacing yet. But they will at some point...that much is guaranteed
