Slight coolant lose

My wife who now has my old 03 superb 1.9tdi classic that I use for a taxi that now has nearly 200k has noticed that she has to top up the coolant
She first noticed this after towing our caravan and I wonder if the extra strain would cause this it has never used any coolant before

Re: Slight coolant lose

Check the bottom corners of the radiator very carefully. Leaking radiators are not an unknown fault on these vehicles.

Re: Slight coolant lose

As Roto says, it will be the radiator.....

Look at the bottom corners of the radiator and if you see white marks then you have a leak, radiator isn't that expensive but it's a front off job to replace it:

Re: Slight coolant lose

My Superb had that problem, I kept on topping it up, and then it sorted itself out and I had no problem - until a woman infront stopped my progress at the roundabout, despite it being free.

It may go after a while 1.9tdi elegance with 109,000 on the clock

Re: Slight coolant lose

You dont have to take the front off to replace the rad, only the front bumper and support and it slides out.
