| Hello... I had some problems with my interior light, bud after I fixed the node under the carpet, everything is fine. Except for the light under the wing mirrors. I can't seem to get theese on? When are they suppose to light? And is there a way to fix them? |

| It could be but if you look closely at the lamps do they have any signs of water in them? I had to replace my driver's side puddle lamp with a completely new unit as water had got in there and corroded it.... How old is your car? How many miles has it done?

| They aren't bulbs mate they are LED's and if they have gone then you have to replace the whole unit.....not the entire wing mirror but the piece that houses the puddle lamps and the wiring harness.....it all comes as one piece from the dealer for around £20 IIRC?

| Do I have to remove the mirrors to get to the lampunit? Or is it possible to change the unit with a srewdriver without removing the mirror? |

| All you have to do is simply remove the mirror casing upwards, it's clipped into position and once you have this out, you remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the wing mirror and you will then be able to remove the LED lamp and the small casing that wraps around the mirror, unplugging the wiring harness in the process....

| Are the suppose to be 12V over the LEDs in the mirror? Or less, since it's actually Leds and not bulbs? |

| You can't replace the LED's as it's a sealed unit so you have to replace the whole part as I described above which you can source from the dealer for around £20 IIRC....

| Yes, but when i measure the voltage to the LED, I only get 0.16V or something close to that. I tought this should be 12V, is that correct? |

| 12volts will be the power source but there could well be a resistor in-line which would change the power going to the LED's.......but that does seem low?

Is it possible to take a 12V power source and create a new cable to the LED? | |

Have you checked the other lamp on the other wing mirror? Does this have the same power feed of 0,16V?

| Your LED has failed short circuit. The resistive ballast in the circuit prevents damage. Do not feed any LED with 12V directly - just replace your old one. rotodiesel. |

| I tried to replace the LED with a 12V computer fan to check wheter the fault was in the LEDs or not. But the fan didn't spin? Are there any special places the I have to check for faults? |

| I had the same problem with my lights, after the dealer did the 'wet carpet' fix, only the lights in the passenger side mirror worked. I'm pretty sure the problem is that the dealer didn't recode something to enable the lights on both sides, but I can't find what needs to be recoded - its somewhere here on this site ![]() |

| I thought that the lights not working after a spot of water ingress was a common problem? I.e. damaged wiring in the n/s/f footwell? |
