| Something Of Interest As you know I am a staunch VX man, but, having owned a Superb for the last 15 mths I have to say this......... Compared to a Vectra C, the Superb rus away with it on all counts other than handling, the Vec isn't a bend taker either, but is slightly better than the Superb, but, for comfort, style and general ownership the Superb is king, I've been critical of it in the past, but this isn't the car it's Skoda's network of incompetant dealers, since I have been at liberty to do at will with it, it's become a fantastic car, parts from either GSF or VW, and a relaxed spacious drive, compared with the cramped Vectra I can't see me ever considering a Vectra again, Insignia maybe, and this car will show how far VX have come in a short time, iirc a lot of this car will be designed from an ex Audi employee, next move I'm unsure, Superb 2 I feel offers eveything a motorist could ask for barr looks, Insignia until I get a look is unknown. |

| Re: Something Of Interest I'm an ex-Vx man, and yes I have to admit the Superb (even for it's faults) is leaps & bounds better than the Vectra. (I had a Vec B 2.2 SRi) I do miss the old Griffen though at times. Had a Corsa 1.8 SRi for a while, which was a hoot to drive - and of course the old Novas and the Mk2 Astra GTE... Still. I'm staying German for now... until I see something Japanese that catches my eye.

| Re: Something Of Interest I still love the VX's tbh lads, and if the Insignia has room in the back this time I will probably get one eventually, VX seem to have shot themselves in the foot by getting into bed with Fiat for the CDTi engines, this is all changing now though and it's back to VX engines, whether they will be any good remains to be seen, my old Vectra B was the most reliable car I ever owned, I had it 3 yrs as a cab and all it cost was a MAF, wanted some bushes when I sold it, but it was a great car, Omega is still the nicest cab I've owned, I got the Superb because it is the closest thing to an Omega I could find, where I go next is in the balance tbh, I like what Skoda offer as a product, I also have a lust for the latest Passat and the DSG option is what will probably keep me in the VAG stable a bit longer. |

| Re: Something Of Interest big vx fan myself and i have to say im taken with the superb. but i wouldnt compare it to the vectra. its a totally different car. realistically the omega is closer to it, but even then, ignoring the rwd of the omega i would have the superb given the choice. we have 2 at work, the v6 tdi and 2.0tdi and both are great to cruise in! ive still got my vectra and weve got a octy 1 4x4 in the family and although my vec could do with a turbo to keep up, i wont be swapping it for a octy just yet ![]()

| Re: Something Of Interest yup, the only good thing is she never uses all that power, so im sure i can slip away in the vec. of course when i sort the tb's, get some cams, 4 branch manifold and maybe a ported head i shouldnt have that trouble full stop ![]()

Depends what you want though, some like to do it with a huge exhaust, spoiler and bright paint... and others like to do it surrounded by leather, wood and axminster... ![]() I make that Pimms o'clock, what?

| Re: Something Of Interest Lol @ Duffelcoat. I don't know mate, a nice stainless system will make the most of the sound, granted... But bi-turbo V6? Does it get any better?? ![]()
