steering wheel badge

has anyone removed the badge off the airbag on the steering wheel?

I've got a nice leather wheel and airbag of a VW but obviously it's got the wrong badge on it!! is it possible to remove the badges and swap them over?

And no the airbags wont swap over, as the new leather wheel is a multifunction wheel and the airbag is a slightly different shape. (yes I know the multifunction buttons wont work)

cheers, john.

Re: steering wheel badge

It can't be that difficult to get off the wheel but I honestly have not tried this.

What VW wheel have you bought then mate?

It's just the standard leather multifunction wheel that comes on the Superb as well as the Passat, mine obviously comes off a Passat hence the need to swap the badges over, my standard wheel is that horrible plastic affair

Re: steering wheel badge

Oh right, I understand now mate.

I reckon you shoudl be able to get it off by levering a small blade under the badge?

Re: steering wheel badge

I'll give it a try, just dont want to bugger up the airbag (i'll do it off the car, so no exploding airbags).

Hope I dont knacker it, the airbags for the multifunction wheel are like hens teeth!!
