| Re: Superb 2.5 TDI Ok, I know nothing, fritter it away, most 3 yr old cars will be on 70k by then, and this is the magic mileage that things start to go wrong, thats why the manufacturers with the exception of Hyundai only cover the car to 60k, and as said £300 doesn't go far in a garage, so how does a warranty company being up front and honest make any profit. |

| Briskodian | Re: Superb 2.5 TDI Easy, self-insuring does not give peace of mind. You pay the insurance company for that peace of mind. They make a profit, you get peace of mind. Do you self-insure your buildings and contents? |

| Re: Superb 2.5 TDI I think Rotodiesel was saying that it is a very big problem in this truck. However the feedback that I have had from a number of car owners is very positive to the 2.5 V6 - as is my own experience to date. The only worry I have is "The Kick Inside" saga so I have taken out the £300 warranty for that much needed "Peace of mind". One major bill could be £1000+ - I know as I spent over £4000 on a Ford Scorpio 2.8 V6 in 2 yrs. That amount of money would insure me for 12yrs plus!! Regards John |

I'm not doing a selling job for extended warranties it's just that I think it's good value at about £27 quid a month. It appears from the policy outline that I can also reduce my car insurance cover as I no longer need a courtesy vehicle! | |

| Re: Superb 2.5 TDI Mikes - you have just prompted me to ask a question. Is the price I was quoted for main dealer or Network? I bet it's network so that will have to change. Will let you know how price is affected if I am right. |

| Briskodian | Re: Superb 2.5 TDI I do not think a single person can afford to self insure. I could go into the stats however it isn't very exciting. WD etc can afford to do it because they insure 1000's of vehicles, so the 1 in 10 that cost £1,000's to fix are covered by the premium of the other 9. Hence why I presume it costs different amounts for different vehicles. I'd like to think something french or an alfa would be more than a skoda to cover. As said it's peace of mind.
