| hi, new member so i hope i`m posting in the right area. today my alternator belt snapped causing loss of power steering, i was just wondering if anyone knew how much this would cost to repair and if it would have caused any underlying damage? |

| It shouldn't have damaged anything seriously, might have caught a couple of tensioners. As for prices, I don't know - I've not had mine done yet. I Suspect it may be a bumper off though. Perhaps Lummox or Rotodiesel could help? Unless someone has had it done. Welcome to Briskoda ![]() |

| You can change it by removing just the undertray, but its a bit tight. Should only be half an hours labour and the price of the belt, so around £50 all in at Skoda dealer I reckon. Where abouts in the country are you, as we might be able to recommend someone to do it for you ![]() |

| I'd get the cambelt inspected at the same time as if the alternator belt has snapped it wasn't in great condition. The cambelt is every 4years or I think 60k on the suberb. Worth getting it checked though as if it's not in great condition and goes then it will be a very big bill.

| thanks for all the advice guys just thought i`d let you know that the cost of repair was £80 which also included a new a/c belt. |
