great looking Octavia can't wait to see the new car.i picked my car up on at 4.00pm last year,it was a big mistake cause by the time i left the dealer it was rush hour !!
couldn't have a proper play with it.

Well, picked up the new Superb, one reason and another we were 24 hours late picking it up, went to pick up the car at 5.pm from Mitchells of Chester who again were faultless.

This is really a good company who care for the customers before they get your money, and that level of care continues after they have your money.

This is the 2nd car we have bought from them and they really do go that extra mile for their customers. Not only that they give you a great bunch of flowers too.

We have driven the car tonight , loved the cat vision and to be honest even though we got the 1.9 tdi 115 it feels just fine. Anyway I have posted the photos as promised, We will enjoy fiddling with the new motor tomorrow. I hope you enjoy the piccies. Roy and Val

What a stunning looking car!

Your choice of colour and interior trim combination works very well - I love the ivory leather against the wood trim - looks much better than the dark leather in mine. Glad to hear you have got it and that Val got her bunch of flowers - you seem to have been lucky and picked a good dealer.

Have great fun driving about getting used to your new car!

Yeah - I don't get why they can't fit them as standard - it'd add £2 to the ex-works cost...

Oh dear, here we go the 1st of many questions I suspect. Question no.1 How do I stop the doors automatically locking when I start off. Grrrreeeee I hate it I want to decide if I lock the doors or not.

Question 2 Is it me or is the sat nav not a very good system, tried two destinations this morning and neither of them were listed, butroads had been in existance since the 70's so they weren't new roads. I also findcompared to my TOM TOM the system seems overly complicated and no post code search facility. I am sure someone will know the answers, thanks off to lunch posing. lol

I can't answer your first question I'm afraid but I'm sure a seasoned VAG.com'er out there will be able to do so.

I can however tell you that the satnav CAN do postcodes. I discovered this by mistake when playing with mine, 'cos it's not in the manual, but if you navigate to the place where you enter a town name, then you'll find you can enter a post code - or at least the first 5 characters of it, which should get you reasonably close to where you want to go.

I agree that it is not really a state-of-the-art system by modern standards, but it is quite impressive in the way that it can go on working without a GPS signal - underground for instance - thanks to the inertial gizmos in it, and unlike Tom-Tom.

This is dealer-programmable on and off, as is the feature that unlocks all the doors when the ignition key is withdrawn. Personally I like both features, but you pays your money and you takes your choice.

Funny I was going to get them to turn this on at my first service !! Car looks great so get out this weekend and have a blast. As per earlier post Sat Nav can do post codes, unit may be old but works a treat and I personally like the fact it's all integrated in d/board and display.

Hi everyone, even thou the sat nav is not the best in the world and the locking doors when I drive off drives me nuts we have had a lovely day just enjoying the car been out for lunch, drive in the country side, burned a few tractors off carrying pig muck, and tonight we went to Chester FC to watch our team lose to Morecombe 1-0 still, been a nice day enjoying the car.

We will go to Mitchells of Chester in the morning have the car washed eat a few jammy doughnuts, cup of coffee, chat to other Skoda people and then off shopping and then Val watch the football, cricket and rugby, while I do the cooking, role reversal in our house...not bad is it. Roy and Val

Roy - Just one to check. Make sure dealer has given you the TMC Sat Nav CD. There are 2 types and sometimes they give you the cheaper one without TMC.

hi all...my wife and i decided to p/x our octavia estate because we was forever getting knees in our backs from our three girls, and went to our local skoda dealer in fareham and went for skoda superb 140 comfort model....so nice to see them actually crossing their legs in a proper lady like way hehe.....as for mpg were getting around 49miles per gallon, thanks to the 6speed gearbox and gentle driving. as for performance, it has lots more compared to the 130 octavia estate, and gets loads of looks too. even some ppl think its a bmw, and get suprised when i tell them its a skoda superb......would have liked an elegance model, but it was just out of my price range new compared to the comfort.

what a great looking interior..... wish i had enough cash to purchase the 140 tdi elegance with automatic transmission......but the comfort 140 6speed is more than adequate, plus i did the rear foglight on n/s/r so they both come on together...that mod took about 10mins. i also took out the radio mp3 player as it was pointless having 2 cd players, and fitted a genuine skoda radio cassette fitted on the octavia l+k models......cant beat cassettes as they dont scratch.hope you have great fun im your superb regards andy

Thanks for your kind words Andy, we also were out and about yesterday went to our Daughters for dinner about 110 miles round trip and the MPG showed 49.8, not bad is it for such a big car.

We were also surprised that the 115 bhp engine fitted in our car was more than ok and didn't feel it was at all underpowered, I did contact Skoda and ask them about this engine, I thought it was a beefed up 105 bhp, but it would appear it is an all new engine and was only brought in over the last few months.

I think I would have prefered the 140 or even the v6 but with the cappucino/ivory interior it was impossible to get without waiting until at least the end of November. This one had 500 miles and was pre-registered and 1 of only 3 available in the country so we bought it and up to now we are very satisfied.

Well, I have done quite a few hundred mile in our new Superb and I can't believe the mpg I am getting from this 1.9tdi (115) I filled up when we took delivery a week yesterday.

We have covered over 324 miles of motorway and Cheshire lanes and the fuel gauge is just on half full. The engine will still be tight so I reckon that is pretty impressive. We are so pleased with our new car.

Welcome to the happy band of Skoda Superb owners, Roy and Val.

You walk away with a VW/Audi engineered car, with loads more equipment than you get with either of them, for around 2/3rds of the price. You're happy - you know you've got a bargain. You wait for something to wrong, but generally speaking nothing goes wrong. I think the Superb is the best kept motoring secret ever - I'm on my second.

What's more (and I may be totally wrong here) I think the current Superb will hold its value well in years to come. I suspect the new Superb, due at the end of this year will be based on the new shape VW Passat (Poor build quality, dodgy looks and cramped interior). If I'm right, I certainly won't be buying one. The current model is a bullet proof bargain and once they stop making them, ongoing demand will keep prices high.

You made a great choice for your new car, thanks for sharing the excitement of it with us. Happy motoring.
