A search will give plenty of info on here about remaps . One or two Superb owners are running a few more horses

Re: Superb Remapping ?

Welcome to the world of the skoda! Dunno about 140 but had my 130 elegance taxi remapped recently and it's great. Nice to have that bit extra power. The guy who did it is in Worcester/ Hereford area. Let me know if you are interested and I will pm you his number.

Plenty of stuff you can do to them. Have got a dvd player hooked up to my sat nav screen and looking to fit new wheels, lowering kit and rear anti roll bar soon. Keep meaning to post pics but i'm getting old and memory not what it was!

Re: Superb Remapping ?

with 10 miles on the clock i think i would let it run in first.....and get an 'immediate' warranty issues out of the way!

do 5-10k then think about it....

my 2 pence worth and arguably worth that!

Re: Superb Remapping ?

Carolyn's hopefully getting hers done soon. Is 170bhp about right to keep reliability and also a bit of economy (plus don't want masses of black smoke every time the throttle opens) Does she need anything else as well?? Filter etc??

It's a 1.9 tdi 130pd

Cheers

Re: Superb Remapping ?

I'd thought about getting mine remapped (had it since 6 months old), but I'm going to hang on until the manufacturers warranty runs out. I don't want something to go wrong for the dealer then to blame it on the remap and not pay out.....

Re: Superb Remapping ?

I'm in a similar position - warranty runs out on my 130 tdi Tiptronic at the end of March.

trouble is there seems to be so much choice!

Dragon, Revo, Jabba to name but three.

I'm just looking for a bit of extra power to aid overtaking, little or no impact on economy, and if possible, a bit less turbo lag.

Recommendations appreciated.

Re: Superb Remapping ?

I got the revo and recommend it, it is quick easy and works well, no piddling about with custom remaps and spending three months tweaking it, 30 mins and your driving home - only faster!

Re: Superb Remapping ?

I have a Generic Custom Code map at the moment. Took about 30 mins to upload and the difference was noticable straight away.

I'm going for a Phase 2 which is a proper custom, to cater for the additional mods I've had fitted.

Re: Superb Remapping ?

Superb Remaps

For the 130 no problem, loads of people like Jabba doing them, if a good one it will completely transform the car for the better & also slightly increase the mpg except if you rag it to death !!

For the 140 its a whole new ball game. If you find anyone who can succesfully map these & have no problems over the next few thousand miles I would be inteterested to hear as ours is out of warranty in a few weeks. From my research a few have tried & in the end the DPF (diesel particle filter) has come back to bite them. It cloggs on some std cars in certain conditions causing the car to go into limp mode as I can vouch for & with more fuel going in more soot is potentially created which will & has caused failures. The big downside for tuners is that the dpf catches all the smoke so if too much fuel is going in & creating excessive smoke there are no visible signs until the warning lights come on. A warning on a new car is that the DPF is classed as a filter & therefore not covered on warranty, if it cant be regenerated by the dealer you pay & unlike an oil filter its a few hundred pounds.

As I said if anyone knows how to get round the DPF let me know, I had a long thread running on this before & no one could come up with an answer

Re: Superb Remapping ?

Well, I've had it done.......... The guy who did it came from Worcester and plugged his laptop in and pulled the map out..... emailled it of to his tuning agent in Coventry and about 1/2 hour later it was all loaded bac in.
he said he specialises in VAG Group cars and has a long list of happy customers including those with the DPF 2.0tdi in A3, a4 and Passats. He really knows his stuff and has a master tech certificate to prove his worth

Really nice guy who was only to eager to please. If anyone needs his number. Drop me a line.
170hp and as smooth as silk.

I suggest you just do a search, its one of the most popular cars to remap & there are loads of posts on it, Just remember you get what you pay for, if its cheap get a few references first. A map can make your car go faster, it can also damage it

Glad you had good service & your pleased, if it runs Ok for a few thousand miles remember to PM me.
With a claimed increase to just 170 it sounds like a very conservative map which should not put too much load on the DPF so hopefully will be ok. I would be intrigued to see what it actually gives on a rolling road.

Re: Superb Remapping ?

I'm running a "Spider" plug and play on the V6, and it is now approx 200 bhp.
You certainly notice the better pulling power.
At least if it goes wrong, I can take it off before it goes back to the dealership

Stuart..
Don’t know if you have visited the Dragon site recently have a read of this. Also Dragon have an installer/agent at Kings worthy. Might be worth having a chat with him.
Jenks.

DTE SYSTEMS V Approved Electronic Diesel control units

Tuning also suitable for Diesel Particle Filter vehicles - DPF FAP etc
A further advantage of the new add-on electronic control units with multi ignition-map technology is their compliance with vehicle emissions standards. Through enhanced burning in all areas of vehicle performance, the fuel is 100% efficiently used, with soot and smoke being things of the past. Because of this, unrestricted installation of the modules is also possible in vehicles with diesel particle filter engines.

Re: Superb Remapping ?

Thanks

At present Im wary of anything until it has a proven track record. I went into our local dealer yesterday to see service, there boss's Superb packed up the night before, DPF blocked, had a laugh but still wary of anything that puts more diesel into the car as it must create more soot at some point
